The Spazmatics may look like preppy dorks in neck braces and taped eyeglasses, but they rock like nobody’s (risky) business.
From new wave to pop trash, the great 80’s classics by Wham, Duran Duran, Depeche Mode and more are covered with cheeky, awkward exuberance by the Spazmatics.
Spazmatics fans include a mix of cute girls (most of whom were still in diapers when these songs were hits) sporting miniskirts & legwarmers, slightly older tough guys who aren’t too cool to sing along to Wham, and revved up thirtysomethings looking for a flashback.
Besides recently filming a national commercial for Comcast, the Spazmatics regularly fill nightclubs across the U.S. and play many of the highest-level private parties including Jessica Simpson’s birthday bash (July 2005) and The White House for President George W. Bush (January 2006).
As THE AFRODISIACS, they have been featured on national TV (including Jenny Jones), commercials, and have shared stages worldwide with the likes of Kool and the Gang , KC & The Sunshine Band and Lionel Richie. They provide the ultimate stage show with exciting choreography and of course all the 70’s super hits.
